Mentoring in robotic gynaecological surgery (MIRGS)

Our aim:

The aim of this project is to provide the link between experienced SERGS surgeons and YEARS members for mentoring and support.

Methods:

SERGS members will be asked (via email) to express interest in mentoring young surgeons, their specific area of expertise, country of practice, and the extent of support they are willing to provide (virtual advice and guidance – short term observership – longer term fellowship).

A list of the above surgeons will be compiled and advertised on the YEARS website.

Interested YEARS members will contact the YEARS mentorship lead who will put them in touch with the respective surgeon. This is to ensure the programme can be appropriately audited.

A year into the programme, we will ask mentees about their experience (survey) and if a formal fellowship programme has been undertaken, we will ask for a formal report which can also be posted on the YEARS website for other YEARS members to review.
